Very questionable judgement

Here's a man who says he has superior judgement due to his long years of service to our country. Then, after meeting her only once, picks his running mate. He met her for 20 minutes, then based on what he was told, pick Palin to run as his Vice President.

First and foremost, the job of the Vice President is to assume the powers of the President if the need should arise. The president does not have to die for this to happen. In the hours after 9-11 Dick Cheney ran around the White House chanting, I'm in charge, I'm in charge. Should the President get sick and is simply unable to perform his duties for awhile, the V.P. assumes the role of President until he is back on his feet.

To me, it doesn't sound like McCain really had the best interest of the country in mind when he picked a person with so little experience. It sounds to me like he sold out the interest of the country to try and appeal to the disgruntled women who voted for Hillary.

And please, don't use the argument that she has as much experience as Obama. He has been serving the people of Illinois in one capacity or another all of his adult life.

Common sense from an independent

When I look back at my voting record, I found I've voted for more Republicans than I have Democrats with a few independents thrown in.

This election is different though. There is way too much at stake this time.



Over the last 8 years we have seen unprecedented corruption, a president that lied us into a war, an economy in down turn, and our standing in the world, greatly diminished. Four years ago I voted for John McCain in the primary. That was when he still stood up for what he believed in. This year it seams John McCain has traded in his principles for the Republican nomination. In 2001 McCain argued against the Bush tax cuts saying they were lopsided in favor of the ultra rich and needed to be more balanced. Now he says he wants to make the Bush tax cuts permanent because he sees what a great job they've done in strengthening our economy. This is just one of the many examples of John McCain's sell out.

Now he has picked a Vice Presidential running mate that he met on only two occasions for 20 minutes. When asked by a reporter why he picked her, he said, because she's a maverick like me and I like her personality. Now does sound like someone who is concerned with this country, or someone who picked his running mate because he thinks she'll get him the women that voted for Hillary.

John McCain, in my eyes, has lost any and all credibility and I wouldn't vote for him now under any circumstances.
